The Center for Leadership, Simulation, and Gaming in the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is looking for a talented Python developer to join our developer team. The selected candidate will develop a set of policy-oriented, computer-based simulation models and participatory simulations (serious, web-based, multi-player games) for integration into the Batten School undergraduate and graduate curricula and research.
Ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience as a developer. Strong python and backend development skills are required. Full stack experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Django is preferred but not required. The position requires working as member of a high-performance team of software developers to produce simulation models and games. The qualified candidate will be working in a university setting to develop research and educational simulations at the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
The selected candidate will formulate and define the system scope and objectives based on client needs. Devise or modify procedures to solve moderately complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Initial appointment is for one year with renewal depending on funding and program needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in computer programming including the use of Python. Backend development experience.
