Posting Summary:
The Communications Office at the University of Virginia School of Law is seeking a Director of Media Relations. The Communications Office develops and implements media relations strategy, website and print marketing materials, social media efforts, event publicity and branding for the School of Law. We educate external and internal constituents--including the public, faculty, students, prospective students and alumni--about the goals, mission and purpose of the Law School, as well as provide information on news and current events.

The Director of Media Relations creates and posts press releases and other kinds of content to the website, produces social media content, and edits brochures and other marketing materials. The Director leads the effort in distributing news to the media, serves as a point of contact for the media, manages the daily social media presence for the Law School, and instigates and implements improvements to the Law School's publicity goals and communications strategy.

Requirements include an undergraduate degree and at least five years' experience in journalism and editing in a news media environment, including experience with news/feature writing and AP style.
