The Office of Property & Liability Risk Management's mission is to protect the assets of the University by providing risk management services to the University through a program of risk financing, claims management, loss prevention, contract review, and Risk Management advice.
This position is responsible for managing the University's insurance programs including the Medical Center and College at Wise. It manages the University's self-insurance funds to ensure that current funding is adequate to pay for losses. It manages the University's property, contents and automobile values in coordination with the Division of Risk Management. This position is also responsible for obtaining insurance loss exposure information, developing insurance premiums and determine premium cost allocations. [SUPERVISORY GUIDANCE WILL BE PROVIDED UNTIL TRAINING IS COMPLETE FOR THESE INSURANCE RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES]. This position is also responsible for managing the department's financial operating budget and providing monthly financial reports to the director. This position works closely with upper management to prepare risk analysis data as needed. This position also may coordinate information technology, acts as the website administrator and manages the human resource activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
--Knowledge of and ability to manage complex budgetary responsibilities for the Property & Liability Risk Management Office and its self-insurance funding operations
