Assistant Professor Cosmetology
Instructor is responsible for instruction and training in all areas of cosmetology that will prepare the student to pass the Kansas cosmetology certification and for entry level employment in cosmetology. The instructor will be responsible for developing student skills, knowledge and attitudes commensurate to the goals of the program. Instructor will collaborate with full-time and adjunct faculty on curriculum design and delivery. The instructor will also fulfill all requirements as stated in the Master Agreement.
Instruction will be at the West Park Campus
Must have knowledge of all areas under Cosmetology licensure and ability to demonstrate that knowledge in classroom or clinic setting.
Effective teaching and communication skills
Must be able to collaborate with faculty and staff, demonstrating professional and courteous behavior
Must be able to perform all Cosmetology practical services for classroom demonstrations
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time for clinical/classroom instruction
Basic computer skills
Critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills
Current Kansas Cosmetology Practitioners License
Current Kansas Cosmetology Instructors License
Minimum Education- Associates Degree
Salon or Teaching experience
