Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry
This position assists the Academic Program Specialist with all aspects of primarily undergraduate, but also some graduate related activities, including, but not limited to: management of courses, course resources, and academic records (both graduate and undergraduate).
Maintain undergraduate records; assist students with enrollment, registration, and dropping/adding courses; assist Academic Program Specialist with special projects, reports, surveys, and data gathering; distribute and collect scholarship, research, and award nomination applications; assist with the preparation of the Student Awards Ceremony; determine if students have met the prerequisite and co-requisite requirements.
Submit Large Lecture Hall Requests to the Registrar's Space and Scheduling Coordinator; input the departmental schedule details into Course Schedule Master; track enrollment throughout the registration window and provide the information to the Committee for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence; input course resource materials to the Course Schedule Master; assist faculty with space reservations for study sessions and exams.
Assist Academic Program Specialist and Associate Chair in planning and implementing Preview for high school students; assist Academic program Specialist and Associate Chair with orientation of new undergraduate students.
Serve as the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Student Affairs Offices initial contact for parents, students, staff and faculty; assist faculty with grade submissions; process and track grade change forms; assist Graduate Program Assistant with preparation of food and beverages each Friday for student reception preceding weekly Departmental Seminar.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
Experience interpreting academic program requirements and providing advice.
Experience with and/or knowledge of academic resources available to students.
Experience meeting project deadlines.
Experience with OMNI Student Central database software is preferred.
Experience with FSU's OMNI system.

Anticipated Salary Range
mid to upper 20's
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
