Northern Arizona Universities department of Development and Alumni Engagement is seeking an individual for the position of Director, President’s Associate Program. This individual will be responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of a robust leadership giving program (annual gifts of $1,000 to $24,999). The successful candidate will be an experienced front-line fundraiser who will prioritize, validate, engage, solicit and steward a portfolio of up to 150 gift prospects capable of philanthropically supporting NAU at the leadership giving level. The Director will be responsible for building the President’s Associate program, which encompasses donors who give at the $1,000 or greater level on an annual basis, establishing a strong pipeline for future major gift support. Emphasis will be on developing and implementing the President’s Associates program strategy (identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, communications, outreach, events, outcome measurement and analysis) to grow the program from $2.9 Million raised in 2016 to $5 Million raised by 2024. The Director will be responsible for coordinating with the University’s overall fundraising program, including effective collaboration and partnership with colleagues, peers, and leadership within a diverse number and variety of fundraising programs; staffing University administrators and faculty on development visits with prospects and donors; and recording activities, contacts, solicitation strategies and proposals in Advance, the donor database. (S)he will collaborate closely with the Director of Annual Giving to build solicitation and upgrade strategies for leadership giving prospects, as well as with Development Officers across campus to upgrade donors from leadership gifts to major gifts. The Director will report to the Assistant Vice President, Development and Alumni Engagement, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, and will supervise one (1) Leadership Giving Officer. Travel will be required 50% or more of the time, with regular travel required for face-to-face visits with prospects and donors, outreach events, and to Flagstaff (if hire is Phoenix based) to learn about campus initiatives, programs, and needs. This position may be based in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant field, experience in higher education fundraising, experience and familiarity with the Phoenix, Tucson, Arizona, and Southern California area and philanthropic communities.

Annual Salary: $77,299 to $94,268
