Lewis University seeks candidates for a Development Coordinator to be responsible for developing and managing fundraising activities, completing projects, and monitoring fundraising progress and workflow. This position serves as a liaison between the university, its community of donors and other key constituents. Duties include but are not limited to basic clerical functions, event and project coordination, gathering, analyzing and reporting data, donor communications and stewardship.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management of the budget
  • Development and coordination of fundraising mailings, presentations, newsletters, stewardship duties and other programmatic activities as assigned
  • Managing the employee giving campaign
  • Coordination and development of materials for Trustee committee, alumni board and advisory board meetings
  • Collaborate with Communications on creation of collateral material for fundraising and stewardship pieces
  • Assists in coordination of special events, including dedications, donor recognition events and celebration of special initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion of proceedings
  • Designs and produces ad hoc reports based on data extracted from primary databases to support fund raising programs
  • Manages a graduate assistant

The incumbent performs coordination of complex duties that incorporates confidential and sensitive information of a broad scope related to donor relations, major gift fundraising, and communications which support the professional objectives and activities of the Advancement department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Computer literacy required
Demonstrated organizational and research abilities with strong attention to detail, including analyzing large volumes of information from disparate sources and synthesizing it in a cogent and concise form. Highly organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to work competently an efficiently in a multi-task environment. Must have proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to initiate and complete task with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have the ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to work effectively with internal and external constituencies in a University environment. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
