Job Description

Bentley University's Natural and Applied Sciences Department invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer to teach Economic Botany.

This introductory level course discusses basic plant structure and function as it relates to economically important products, agriculture from its earliest beginnings to promising plants of the future, and the importance of plant breeding, propagation, and conservation to modern economy. Examples of plants and plant products used around the world will be illustrated through the use of fresh material, purchased products, videos, slides, internet links, and field trips.

The course is a natural science elective that serves the general education curriculum and our Earth, Environment, & Global Sustainability Liberal Studies Major.

Required Qualifications

Must be available Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 11:00am during fall 2017 semester.
Ph.D. in related field of biology or environmental science preferred. Individuals with industry experience in related fields are particularly encouraged to apply. Ph.D. candidates in late stages of training will be considered.
