Job Description Summary

Oversees and manages the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development, implementation and general effectiveness of the MUREP Aerospace Academy.



Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Oversees and manages the MUREP Aerospace Academy

• Prepares and administers budget and assists with grant writing

• Hires, supervises and assesses the performance of assigned staff

• Serves as a liaison between the college and external partners

• Oversees didactic and instructional process including student evaluations and schedules, and evaluation of program courses

• Counsels and advises students

• Prepares funding proposals, and program and funder reports

• Coordinates development of curriculum and enhances the student experience through hands-on lab activities utilizing emerging and evolving related technologies

• Prepares course schedules and makes instructional assignments

• Markets program and recruits students

• Coordinates Advisory Committee and all program admission activities

• Provides input for outcomes assessment and program objectives

• Develops and maintains effective communication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, instructors and community

• Conducts instructor and staff meetings

• Performs other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Bachelor's Degree

• Minimum of five years of demonstrated education, administration, program development, or non-profit/grants management experience

• Demonstrated experience with project management and supervising the quality of the work of others

• Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

• Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget

• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring critical thinking and innovation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Possess working knowledge of program management concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

• Ability to prepare proposals and reports

• Demonstrated intermediate project management skills

• Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Master's Degree in Education, Administration or related field

• Demonstrated experience in STEM education

• Demonstrated instructional experience with skills in curriculum design, instructional methods, evaluation, and assessment

• Demonstrated ability to recruit both students and staff



Work Schedule

Five days per week, Monday - Friday, except during MAA Academic Sessions when Saturdays are mandatory (with a weekday off).



Special Note

This position is grant funded at Cuyahoga Community College. Appointment is contingent upon continuation of grant funding.
