Department Operations Assistant, ECE
I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:
GW's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) provides leading edge programs in electrical and computer engineering in order to provide leadership in a rapidly evolving global information society in the service of humanity and to advance the state of knowledge in our disciplines by actively pursuing scholarly research for publication and dissemination.
Under direct guidance of the Department Operations Lead, the Department Operations Assistant will support the department's student and faculty population.
Provides administrative and academic support to the Chair and Faculty of the Department.
Serves as first point of contact for all faculty, students and guests of the Department
Updates and maintains course scheduling
Prepares, distributes and coordinates dissertation announcements and required examinations.
Carries out receptionist duties as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the positionMinimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
