Professional Research Assistant

Nature of Work:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a full-time Professional Research Assistant (PRA) to work in the Department of Psychiatry. The psychiatry department is currently recruiting a PRA to work on different research projects. The University of Colorado is an urban institution with several locations in the Denver metro area. Supervision Received:

Reporting to Principal Investigator (Chad Morris, PhD) and other investigators as needed.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Training Coordination
    • Communicate with training sites to determine training needs and track correspondence
    • Schedule training rooms, trainers, and catering
    • Monitor registration payments/numbers
    • Print and ship all training materials
    • Update training databases and mailing lists
    • Correspond with past trainees about training materials and certifications

  • Materials Development
    • Collaborate with PI and Senior PRA(s) to develop educational training programs, manuals, toolkits, presentations, fact sheets, and other resources
    • Conduct literature searches and other research to assist Senior PRA(s) in developing educational materials
    • Prepare research manuscripts and research presentations for PI and Senior PRA(s)
    • Perform editing tasks on all resources including editing for content, errors, and formatting
    • Responsible for designing resources by using software like InDesign and other media
    • Maintain document integrity within program by managing document versions and database

  • Research and Data Management Duties
    • Assist Senior PRA(s) to develop research survey and questionnaires
    • Disseminate surveys and questionnaires; maintain records of dissemination
    • Develop and maintain research databases, including training participant data, evaluation data, and other tracking information
    • Maintain training database on website and email
    • Diagnose and problem solve as it relates to research projects, working collaboratively with research team

  • Administrative Duties
    • Responsible for processing all new hires, terminations, and other miscellaneous human resources activities
    • Collect and maintain record of employee leave hours, submit hours monthly
    • Manage all employees' expenses and generate expense reports
    • Arrange travel and process travel reports
    • Order and maintain all office supplies including ordering training materials
    • Responsible for website management including updating weekly with new content, maintaining webpages, and updating materials

Minimum Qualifications:

Position requires:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Advanced skills in editing for grammar and content as well as an eye for formatting (attention to small details)
  • Demonstrated ability using Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to create professional documents and graphics
  • Experience with formatting documents according to APA style (and other citation guidelines)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of University of Colorado software systems including HCM, CU Marketplace, and Concur
