The Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Division of Emergency Medicine, is inviting applications for an Emergency Medicine Physician. This is a full-time appointment as a Clinician Scientist. Applicants must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The individual will be located at a fully affiliated hospital within the Greater Toronto Area. The position will provide up to 70% protected time for research, and will also include clinical service and teaching at all levels of medical education. Salary support start-up packages are available for exceptional clinician scientists in the early phases of their careers at the Department of Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity within an outstanding collaborative environment. Effective start date is July 1, 2018 or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.
This dynamic individual's research interests should align with the priorities of the University of Toronto, Division of Emergency Medicine. The individual should have the potential to be a research leader and should be able to demonstrate excellence in academic research. Advanced training and evidence of scholarship in their area of research is a requirement for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must have evidence of a strong publication record, as well as holding competitive external operating grants, successful teaching and supervision, and evidence of established academic engagement.
The successful candidate must hold a MD degree, be eligible for certification in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine, and have, or be eligible for licensure in Ontario. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
