The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado is recruiting a postdoctal research associate, to conduct innovative research in the area of understanding variability of Indian Ocean upwelling, heat content and heat redistribution. The overall goal is to utilize the Jason-series mission data and the ~20-year multiple satellite altimeter data, other satellite data, in situ observations combined with model experiments and advanced statistic tools, to provide a thorough investigation on the roles played by climate modes in causing interannual variability and decadal change of the IO upwelling and heat redistribution. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Weiqing Han in collaboration with scientists at NCAR (Jerry Meehl and Aixue Hu, collaborators). Initial appointment is for two years, with possible extension contingent upon performance and availability of funds. Inquiries may be directed to Weiqing Han (email@example.com).
