Job Summary/Basic Function:
We are seeking a scholar and/or designer with areas of expertise to complement the current strengths of our Communication Design program, and to bolster new programs in UXD at the undergraduate level and Interaction Design at the graduate level. Depending on the candidate's experience, teaching assignments may include undergraduate courses in interaction design, user-experience design, human-centered design, and/or special topics.
Additionally, CVAD is moving to create a new Usability Testing Center and we are seeking leadership for that endeavor. Faculty are expected to maintain an active and recognized professional practice or scholarly research agenda. Additional service responsibilities as needed by the department and CVAD are required.

A PhD in Human Centered Design or Human Computer Interaction; college-level teaching experience and/or three years or more of professional design; and expertise in usability testing, and interface design or user experience design are required.
An additional MFA, MDES, or its equivalent in Communication Design, Graphic Design or Interaction Design is preferred.
