Responsibilities

Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of a wide variety of broadcast production equipment including: cameras, monitors, video switchers, character generators, audio mixers, routers, editing systems, shared digital storage systems, and other equipment as assigned. This equipment is highly specialized, software based equipment. Will utilize consulting and problem solving skills to address problems and issues.
Manage, monitor and install audio and video systems and troubleshoot problems for Seminole Productions live events. This includes network troubleshooting for data and stats for integration into live event broadcast production. This could involve complex technology systems issues.
Manage IT-based shared storage system for edit suites and production facility.
Manage control rooms and cable infrastructure of the Seminole Productions facility. This includes managing, replacing, and repairing fiber cable, coax cable, and XLR cables as needed. Plan and execute preventative maintenance and software upgrades.
Manage audio and video signal flow to detect and solve problems in a fast paced and high pressure environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: post-high school education or a certificate from a technical institute in broadcast engineering or related field can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Experience safely operating and maintaining broadcast and production equipment.
Experience with the latest video control software for routers, cameras, intercoms, switchers, and other television studio equipment.
Experience utilizing problem solving and technical skills.
Experience with digital and analogue electronic theory and the ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic systems.
Experience with the practices, methods, and trends in television production.
Experience with cable, fiber, and IT based networking systems including the underlying theories and principles.

Opening is to recruit for 2 identical positions (81779 and 81912).

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
