This position is responsible for performing laboratory management and research in Dr. Nee’s lab in the Psychology department. Laboratory management will include recruiting, scheduling, and running participants in laboratory tasks including behavioral, functional MRI, and transcranial magnetic stimulation studies. Research will include experimental design and data analysis using software and custom-written code. The lab manager will also train and supervise other laboratory personnel.
Data collection including participant recruitment and scheduling. Functional MRI and transcranial magnetic stimulation studies will require safety training. Transcranial magnetic stimulation studies will require additional training in electromyography, motor thresholding, and administering stimulation via stereotactic guidance.
General laboratory management including purchasing supplies, researching equipment purchases, maintain equipment, IRB assistance, and organizing and maintain records.
Research including experimental design using E-Prime and/or MATLAB and other relevant software. Data analysis using combinations of MATLAB and other statistical packages such as R and SPSS. Quality checks of neuroimaging data using MATLAB, SPM, AFNI, and other relevant software. Neuroimaging data pre-processing using custom-written code.
Training students and other personnel in lab procedures, safety, computer and software usage, and coding.
A Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or related field.
Knowledge of data gathering, analysis, testing methodologies, practices, and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to independently perform tests, examinations, and safety procedures relevant to the assigned area of research.

Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
