The Office of Records and Registration is seeking a full-time Student Records Business Analyst to join our customer service and results-orientated team.  The Business Analyst will report to the Associate Director of Systems and Reporting and will provide business representation and leadership for the core functional areas of student records. 

Responsibilities include:

Provide overall business process expertise for the student records module of our student information system (PeopleSoft v 9.0).  Maintain and update business process documentation.  Answer all PAWS Help emails and ensure questions are routed appropriately.  Serve as the student records liaison with various pertinent offices, committees, and other cross-functional administrative and technical meetings.  Troubleshoot and solve system or data issues related to PAWS and system interfaces.  Assist with coordinating system upgrades and conduct functional testing and end-user training.

Work closely with Associate Director to create timelines and communication plans.  Gather requirements for First Semester Sequences from each academic department and update the associated documentation in MS Word and Access.  Update Qualtrics worksheet based on departmental feedback and launch FSW for new incoming students.  Monitor FSW related emails and respond accordingly.

Work cross functionally with the Senior Business Analyst to ensure the integrity and proper use of SR & AA fields and structural tables.  Be proactive in researching and developing best practices for the SR module.  Recommend, develop, test, and implement system enhancements for the SR module.  Develop, maintain, and deliver scheduling and enrollment reports through PAWS queries and Business Objects reporting.  Maintain, configure, and test the SR module as it relates to patches and fixes that are delivered by Oracle. Coordinate testing across the Enrollment area and maintain testing documentation.

Work with the college's webpage division to ensure a dynamic web presence for the office.

Perform additional tasks assigned by the Associate Director as needed to support the daily operations of Enrollment Operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Two (2) years of business analyst experience in public or private sector.

  • Strong customer service in IT or technology based environment.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of constituencies.

  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and processes and translate them into application and operational requirements. 

  • Strong technical aptitude coupled with a "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills including use of technology and web based applications.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference given to candidate with experience in higher education, education consulting, or related field

  • Preference given to candidate with experience working in PeopleSoft Student Information System, Qualtrics Data Retrieval Tools and various Reporting Software (i.e. Business Objects/Cognos)

This position has the state title of Professional Services Specialist 4. It is included for membership in the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) bargaining unit. The starting salary for this position is U18, $ 44,489.93. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
