Job Description

General Description : Jay Nolan Community Services (JNCS), a non-profit organization, is looking to hire full & part-time employees to provide support services for children, teens, or adults with Autism or other developmental disabilities so that they may live, work, & play as independently as possible in their homes & in their community. The support services provided are customized to the person being supported individual needs.

PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE *

Shifts vary: some include a more flexible schedule that include weekends and evenings

$12.00/hr

PRIMARY DUTIES :
  • Provide support for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities at school, volunteer sites, community activities and work
  • Supports are 1:1 and happen outside of the home.
  • Efforts are focused on helping individual to explore their interests and be employed.
  • Work as a team with consumers, family, supervisor and people in the community to bring together the circle of support around the individual.
  • Use community resources and technology to plan activities, focus on individual's job development, and stay organized.
  • Assist individuals to meet new people and develop authentic connections with people in their community.
  • EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Genuine interest in supporting employment for people with disabilities-Excellent communication skills (written & oral)-Experience supporting people with disabilities a plus but not required
  • Friendly and patient.
  • Enjoy providing hands on support
  • Positive, supportive and flexible
  • Responsible, reliable, & a good role model is essential.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must pass a background check
  • A valid driver's license, reliable auto, current auto insurance, & smart phone are required
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of job.
