Research Assistant, Health Equity


Job Description Summary:

The Institute for Patient-Centered Initiatives & Health Equity at the GW Cancer Center (the Institute) has an immediate opening for a Health Equity Research Assistant. This position primarily supports a Pfizer Foundation funded research and education project, a Susan G. Komen funded multi-stakeholder educational campaign, and a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) funded Pipeline to Proposal (P2P) contract. The Health Equity Research Assistant reports to the Project Manager, Health Equity. The Research Assistant will: (1) Assists with research study coordination; (2) Conducts patient interviews; (3) Facilitates focus groups; (4) Conducts data collection and analysis; (5) Assists in the delivery of presentations on cancer risk factors and culturally sensitive cancer care; (6) Performs other related duties assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

A BA/BS in related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative analysis, and experience with cancer-specific research study coordination is strongly preferred. One year of social, behavioral, and/or public health research experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skill. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
