Position Summary: The UNC Division of Infectious Disease, Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a fixed term faculty member, open rank. The ideal candidate will be at least an early to mid-career level faculty member with experience and a passion for outpatient and inpatient clinical care, teaching, and clinical scholarship. The ideal candidate has experience or qualifications to provide program leadership for patient care initiatives. Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Diseases. This faculty position is based in the UNC Infectious Diseases Clinic and will support the clinic's mission of providing excellent patient care, education, and service. The UNC Division of Infectious Diseases has a faculty of more than 50 clinicians and researchers working to prevent and treat infectious diseases as well an accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship program. The clinic is the site of outpatient care for patients with a range of infectious diseases concerns, including care of approximately 2000 people living with HIV, outpatient general infectious diseases consultation, post-hospitalization care for a variety of infections, HIV prevention and hepatitis C treatment services, an OPAT program, and other specialized services. The clinic is also the site of recruitment for a wide array of research efforts, the hub of teaching efforts for our fellows as well as medical residents, students and other trainees, and hosts many visitors seeking training and educational opportunities.
Education Requirements: MD or DO, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Diseases
Qualification and Experience: Experience in the care of patients with infectious diseases. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent teaching skills in both didactic and interactive teaching styles are highly desirable. Experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship is preferred.
