Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Academic and IT Operations in the Graduate School, the Program Administrator is a senior level professional responsible for the overall financial, educational, and programmatic management of his or her assigned PhD/Masters Training Program(s). The Administrator independently analyzes and coordinates policies and procedures and oversees the implementation of teaching, research, and graduate training associated with the Program. The Administrator makes recommendations relative to the business affairs, expenditure of funds, and allocation of resources for the Program(s). In conjunction with the Program Director, the Administrator represents the Program within the School of Medicine, the Graduate School, the Anschutz Medical Campus, and the University of Colorado, providing essential communication and networking for the effective functioning of these entities.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position begins at $50,000 and is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, social science, liberal arts, communications or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience that has included broad and diversified administrative responsibilities, especially in the areas of financial and programmatic or curricular management.

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of broad and diversified professional experience that has included administrative responsibilities.
  • Experience working in a medical and/or academic setting
  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Experience processing and tracking payroll and financial transactions
  • Experience working with UIS, CU-SIS, PeopleSoft, or similar electronic student information system
  • Graduate-level degree

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability
