Employment Status: Full time (29-40 Hrs)
A-State is seeking candidates for a 9-month, pre-tenure appointment at the Assistant Professor level.
Faculty members deliver instruction, carry out research, perform service for their respective professions and community, and participate in the management of the University through shared governance.
Teaching load of the faculty is normally twelve hours per semester.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Faculty work load includes:
Research, creative activity, service, and professional development in the best interest of the students and community at large.
Deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession.
Student academic advisement responsibilities, as well as regular teaching loads.
Set degree requirements and assess when these have been met.
Establish and maintain curricula that meet professional standards and fulfill the educational goals of the University.
Candidates should possess:
Strong experience with or background for intern supervision and assessment.
A classroom background teaching in the elementary grades K-3.
Experience with English Language Learners is desired.
Program assessment experience is desired.
Knowledge of instructional lesson design and The Arkansas Teacher Excellence and Support System or similar programs is are also desired.
8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Availability to work after hours and/or weekends as needed.

An earned Doctorate in the Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. A strongly related degree may be considered.
Three (3) years of documented teaching in grades K-3.
