Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for a faculty position in Special Education at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to begin Spring or Fall 2018 semester. The successful candidate will join a productive and culturally and intellectually diverse group of faculty. The position is for applicants with expertise in high incidence disabilities (i.e., mild-moderate disabilities, learning disabilities, and/or emotional/behavioral disorders). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the success of the department through research, teaching, program building and graduate mentoring. Instructional roles include teaching special education courses in above noted areas, and mentoring graduate/doctoral students. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead, develop, or continue an ongoing research agenda in his/her area of expertise, including consistent publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and externally funded projects. Effective service on dissertation committees is expected, as well as representation of the discipline and department via participation on administrative committees and other relevant service activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include: (a) an earned doctorate in Special Education or a closely related field with an appropriate special education focus (ABDs defending their dissertation by the end of the semester before the start date will be considered for Assistant Professor rank); (b) evidence of independent research/scholarship and/or external funding, commensurate with rank; and (c) teaching experience in K-12 settings with individuals with disabilities and formal university instruction commensurate with rank. For applicants to Associate Professor rank, evidence of substantial federal grant funding and/or national standing in scholarship is required.
