Job Description
The Electrical Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist III to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* First Point of contact for the department, receiving and routing phone calls, visitors, and students.
* Coordinates and completes all department travel, including arrangements and required documentation.
* Responsible for management and maintenance of all departmental filing systems, digital and archiving.
* Departmental purchasing needs for office supplies, events, and activities.
* Coordination of efforts and assist with yearly inventory of departmental equipment assets.
* Assist with administrative support of data basing, correspondence, reports, and event planning of activities for the department.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Skill in composing routine letters and preparing reports.
* Skill in recording and compiling material for reports.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Strong customer service skills, and ability to work in a diverse environment.
* Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
* Familiarity with coordination of travel planning.
* Experience with event planning.
* Proficient in Microsoft office suite, including outlook, Excel, and word.
* Knowledge and familiarity of working with office machinery.
