Position Summary

This is a part time position performing a full range of mental health care within the Counseling and Psychiatry unit while collaborating with other departments across the MSU community.     

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completion of more than three years of study beyond a four-year college degree, such as a Medical Doctorate or Osteopathic Doctorate degree; up to six months of related experience in a clinical environment after completion of residency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and a license from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy, and either the Michigan Board of Medicine or the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery; and board certification/eligibility in Psychiatry.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with college age students and a multi-cultural international population; willingness and experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team; outpatient psychiatry experience including psycho-pharmacology, crisis intervention and brief psycho-therapeutic intervention for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, eating disorders and psychotic disorders; experience in peer review, committee work, quality improvement initiatives and electronic medical records.

Clinic hours are generally from 8AM-6PM Monday thru Thursday, 8AM-5PM Friday.
