Clark University’s Office of Human Resources seeks to fill the position of Associate Director. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Associate Director is the second tier of leadership in the Office of Human Resources and assists the Director with the administration of all aspects of human resources services and programs. The Associate Director acts as the department head in the Director’s absence. Duties and Responsibilities Included in a range of responsibilities, the Associate Director will coordinate HR policies and programs (with emphasis on the benefits, performance management, and employee relations programs), insuring that the University is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, the position works closely with the Director in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions and activities. The position, in consultation with the Director of Business & Auxiliary Services, assists with safety efforts across campus, as well as other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years’ human resources experience, preferably in higher education (HR certification or HR degree preferred) and must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. The candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with a service orientation and demeanor necessary to foster working relationships and work collaboratively with others. In addition, the candidate will be detail-oriented with an ability to develop and execute creative plans to resolve issues, problem solve and mitigate risks, demonstrate sound judgement and discretion while maintaining strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information and personal issues, as well as the ability to communicate complex information in an understandable fashion to a variety of audiences. The candidate will maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources. Technical qualifications include proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience and strong working knowledge of Ellucian Banner Human Resources systems or comparable HRIS systems. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
