Position Summary: The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor to work as a Family Therapist at the OASIS Wake program site within the Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health (CECMH). OASIS is a comprehensive outpatient program that specializes in the treatment of adolescents and young adults experiencing new onset psychosis or are at risk for developing psychosis. The Family Therapist's primary responsibilities is to provide psychosocial assessment, family consultation, psycho-education, individual and family therapy, multi family groups and limited case management; assist in community education on early psychosis recognition, and assist in program evaluation and quality improvement through the collection of outcome measures. There are also leadership opportunities for applicants that have an interest in program director level functions, including daily management of the program; implementation of administrative policy and procedures for the clinic; establishing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with community agencies; higher level coordination of care across multiple systems.
Education Requirements: Applicant must hold a master's degree in social work or in counseling.
Qualification and Experience: Applicant must hold a master's degree in social work or counseling. LCSW, LMFT or LPC required. Must have considerable knowledge of psychosis and related mental disorders and psychosocial treatments; experience and/or strong interest in working with youth and their families. Familiarity with community resources and the public mental health system preferred; excellent and written communication skills; and experience as part of a multidisciplinary team.
