Summary of Duties:
The Opportunity
As part of Human Resources Services (HRS), the primary function of this position is for the accounting and reporting of multiple employee benefit and retirement plans for approximately 6,600 eligible employees in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The incumbent must enter and ensure data integrity of employee benefit and retirement data in multiple university, state and vendor systems. Under general supervision, the incumbent must demonstrate the ability to organize workload, use independent judgment in problem solving, provide effective management for complex benefit accounting activity, and possess strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.

Duties include reviewing, approving, processing fiscal-related functions for state retirement systems (PERS, TRS, LEOFF, DCP); monitoring non-student/hourly employees in PERS; monitoring retirees who have been rehired, and TIAA (WSURP and VIP) Retirement processing. Responsible for inputting benefit forms into the state's Pay1 system, HEPPS, and PAYNAT systems in accordance with regulations and processing schedules. The incumbent is responsible for the University computer system MANTRAN processing.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
