Job Title Coordinator, Tutoring Services

Job Description

The Coordinator, Tutoring Services oversees the tutoring program in the Center for Academic Achievement. Facilitates student success workshops, presentations, and academic coaching sessions. Collects, analyzes, and reports tutoring program data.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization such as Education, Counseling, Advising, Student Development, or other closely related discipline.

Two years of appropriate experience in student development and training, counseling, advising, academic retention, or related field.

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).



Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization such as Education, Counseling, Advising, Student Development, or other closely related discipline.

Experience working with a diverse undergraduate population of students within a higher education setting.

Experience coordinating a college or university tutoring program, working in a college or university learning center, student academic advising, or counseling.

Experience in designing academic support programs addressing special characteristics, interests, and backgrounds.

Experience training and supervising student leaders.

Demonstrated experience with data analysis, reporting, and use of data in decision making.

Experience with Banner software and AccuSQL.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of student intellectual, emotional and social development theory, techniques and research associated with ensuring the success of diverse student populations.

Knowledge of and ability to apply FERPA.

Knowledge of or ability to learn Banner and AccuSQL software.

Skill in talking to others to convey information effectively.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.

Ability to recruit, interview, select, train and effectively supervise the work of student staff.

Ability to collect, analyze, organize and present information in a meaningful manner.

Ability to develop and deliver training presentations and programs.

Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, documents and databases using MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.

Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.



Salary Range $32,000 - $34,400

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties

•Coordinates the operations of the Center for Academic Achievement tutoring program.

•Recruits, interviews, selects, trains, and supervises student workers, volunteers and OPS staff. Provides guidance and direction, organizes work schedules, tracks time, and approves payroll.

•Creates and implements a marketing and outreach plan to promote tutoring programs offered within the Center for Academic Achievement.

•Collects and analyzes data on activities and events to assess and report on program participation and effectiveness. Prepares monthly reports, presentations and proposals.

•Collaborates with academic success coordinators to provide and facilitate student success workshops and academic coaching sessions that support academic success and retention.

•Updates and maintains Center for Academic Achievement policies and procedures related to the tutoring program.

•Collaborates with administrators, faculty, staff and students to assist in the development, implementation and effectiveness of tutoring-related programs.

•Participates in budget planning, goal setting and long-range planning for the Center for Academic Achievement and Undergraduate Studies department.

•Communicates program needs, changes, and services provided to the Center for Academic Achievement Director and Assistant Director.
