Job Description Summary:

In support of this mission, the GWSB Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC), is searching for an Senior Administrative Associate.
The Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC) has positioned itself to be the world's leading center for financial literacy research and policy. Through rigorous scholarship and research, wide-reaching education, and global policy and services, the Center works with partners in Washington, D.C., throughout the United States, and across the globe to raise the level of financial knowledge.
GFLEC builds on more than fifteen years of academic research by Dr. Annamaria Lusardi, an early contributor to financial literacy as a field of study. By virtue of its location in the heart of Washington, D.C., the Center is positioned to directly influence policymakers. GFLEC seeks to make research findings more accessible to policymakers and practitioners in order to help shape national and international dialogue around financial literacy. With this goal in mind, GFLEC has three areas of impact in which it actively works: research, dissemination, and education. Research is at the core of all of these areas.
The Senior Administrative Associate provides administrative support to the Academic Director, and Executive Director. This individual also provides support to implement the programs and initiatives of the center, such as communications and events and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
The Senior Administrative Associate reports to Dr. Lusardi, the Academic Director and founder of the Center, and has no direct reports.
Primary responsibilities include:
Coordinates meetings, travel arrangements, manages the Academic Director's schedule, email, maintains inventory for office supplies and material.
Creates and distributes correspondence to external stakeholders on behalf of the Academic Director.
Greets visitors and provides welcoming and hospitable service to GFLEC guests.
Participates on the event planning team and is involved in various aspects of the planning for approximately 15-20 events per year of varying sizes and scope.
Performs financial duties, i.e. pays invoices, requests/liquidates purchase orders, completes monthly reports of the procurement credit cards, processes reimbursements, prepares and drafts budgets for small events, and provides various financial reports for the Center.
Contributes to writing social media posts and editing the website as needed.
Writes and designs mass emails, such as newsletters, using the Vertical Response add-on to Salesforce. Tracks and shares the statistics related to the communication and outcomes.
Provides supervision, training and delegation of work for student employees within the external relations and operations team.
Contributes to process improvements initiatives for procedures and systems for the external relations and operations team.
This position may include occasional travel in support of Dr. Lusardi.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Expertise in Microsoft Office
Experience with Salesforce, Vertical Response, Oracle, Concur, and Wordpress
Accounts payable experience
Event planning experience
Excellent communications skills
Experience writing social media posts and using Hootsuite
Interest in the field of financial literacy
