Duties: We are looking for a product manager to support the development and execution of a behavior change research platform that connects researchers and partner organizations. The platform is constantly evolving based on research and implementation requirements. The product manager will work collaboratively with researchers and software engineers. The product manager will embrace design thinking, understand the details of software development, carry a deep passion for user-centered interactive design, and maintain an eye for details and the highest standard for quality. As a member of a small, dynamic team, this position requires a solution-focused thinker who can pro-actively communicate, plan, and drive a creative and technical product. This position will have two direct reports.
This is a grant-funded position.
Key Responsibilities:
To support the development of these products, and smaller prototypes that feed these products, you will be called to:
* Meet with lead researchers on a continual basis to determine functional needs
* Break down researcher needs into small development tasks
* Prioritize tasks for incremental build
* Present updates at weekly product check-ins
* Create agenda of items to run through with researchers at meetings
* Manage expectations of development cycle
* Wireframe / sketch the interface during meetings to attain consensus
* Advocate for fantastic UX throughout product
* Manage work of developer between product meetings with researcher team
* Keep holistic product vision and deadlines in mind while breaking into tiny development tasks
* Code-review developer's commits for deep understanding of product
* Help developer determine best options for add-on services like texting and digital incentive payouts
* Understand developer stack: Django (python) / Django Rest, Celery, Redis, Postgres, Heroku, Twilio, React Javascript; and develop in your own preferred environments
* Be willing to learn and develop new ways to drive an outstanding product
* Communicate with partner organizations as needed

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 4 to 6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
* Project management experience
* Active interest in behavioral economics and psychology a plus, but previous experience in these fields is not mandatory
* Experience in product/project management
* UX & UI Design and web programming are essential
* Open to learning new skills/libraries
* Solution-focused; ability to weave multiple inputs into a common point of view
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Highly effective interpersonal communication and writing skills
* Fierce work ethic and sense of purpose
*Ability to contribute to a dynamic team
