The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks an Associate Director of Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation . This critical role will carry out advanced analytics and provide strategic insights to senior leadership, focusing primarily on admissions/financial aid/scholarships, alumni and career development, and rankings.

The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics to collect enterprise metrics, participate in improving data collecting/storing/using infrastructure and analyze information tied closely to the Darden enterprise dashboard and rankings.

This position will assist in the reporting and analysis, including developing materials and presentations for review by Darden leadership to help assess and make progress against admissions priorities and metrics, student and alumni career outcomes and support, human capital, the academic mission, and rankings. The successful candidate will turn data into insights and business decisions that support the mission of the school.

The key clients of the Associate Director will be the senior leaders of the Career Development Center (CDC), Alumni Career Services (ACS), Admissions, and the Office of the dean of Darden.

Typical Work Includes:

Work with leadership in Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Alumni and Career Development Center and to most efficiently gather and maintain current information on activity and results relevant to priorities and rankings.
Carry out advanced analytics using data to help provide strategic insights, and actionable recommendations to enterprise leadership.
Develop and maintain appropriate reports to help identify trends, prepare performance dashboards, analyze key facts, and improve success of Admissions and Career Development Center (CDC). Clean and transform data as required to deliver actionable information.
Provide insights and mechanisms to optimize scholarship funding, and increase admissions pipeline.
With the CDC and ACS, increase visibility and number of off-Grounds career opportunities, and connection to alumni, including quality and accuracy of the alumni database.
Work with the Director to assess enterprise data systems, strategic reporting needs and decision criteria, and use this information to develop the systems for a robust enterprise strategic reporting system.
Assist with the roll-out of Darden's dashboard and provide ongoing analytics support to develop strategic insights and recommendations from this data.
Use reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for a range of complex data problems (e.g.: input errors or inadequate field edits), and recommend possible solutions and communicate their organizational impact.
Provide complex analysis and recommendations regarding data management and the design of dashboard and reports.
Collaborate with the data architecture and technical development team to ensure the creation of an efficient technical solution that meets all functional business needs.
Assist in the collection and analysis of student feedback and assessment of global programming to help support continuous review and improvement of the global educational experience.
Conduct benchmarking studies with peer schools.
Champion ideas and new technology capabilities to take data analytics of the School to the next level, and institutionalize those capabilities once piloted.
