The University of Connecticut, Institute for Student Success, Center for Academic Programs (CAP), Storrs Campus, seeks candidates for a part-time (50%), grant-funded Administrative Services Assistant 3 position. This person will report to the Executive Director for CAP.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Performs office management duties; directs the workflow and supervises the processing of administrative and personnel paperwork; devises, modifies and oversees the maintenance of record keeping systems; independently composes, prepares and/or edits correspondence and reports containing information that requires thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and data sources; handles administrative matters related to department and program operations, and may represent and transmit authoritative information on behalf of the Executive Director, as designated.

This position also assists with the coordination and submission of grant applications to several funding sources; coordinates student registration, events and financial paperwork; produces publications, newsletters and departmental materials; responsible for making all necessary arrangements for meetings, conference and travel; serves as coordinator on multiple, concurrent projects, both short and long term; and may supervise, train and determine work assignments for support employees such as student workers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; 4 to 8 years of experience in a progressively responsible administrative support position; ability to resolve administrative problems efficiently, effectively and independently; Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, administrators as well as external agencies/groups and the public; strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree; experience in higher education environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products; Experience in website design and maintenance in platforms such as Aurora; experience utilizing social media as a marketing and communications tool; experience using KFS or similar financial records management system.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a part-time 12 month position and includes full benefits. This is a one-year end-dated position subject to renewal. The salary is commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately.
