Job Summary/Basic Function

The Transcript Analyst I, under general supervision, evaluates transcripts from Colleges, Universities, and military work for transferability and makes decisions on resident status and other admissions issues.



Minimum Education/Experience/Skills

Associate's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years of related experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.



Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

Bachelor's degree, 2 years' experience in admissions and transcript articulation.



Work Hours

Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm
(some after hours may be required)

Articulate and Update Transcripts:

Articulate and update transcripts using Banner student system. Review, evaluate and articulate military transcripts (AARTS/SMARTS). Enter evaluated courses into the evaluation sheet, contact student by email to sign and pick up their military evaluation, articulate returned evaluation sheets into student system. Keep up to date with ACE credit recommendation updates. Pull military transcripts from system as required.

Percent of total time 10 Responsibility / Duty

Articuate and Update Military Transcripts:

Review, evaluate and articulate military transcripts (AARTS/SMARTS). Enter evaluated courses into the evaluation sheet, contact student by email to sign and pick up their military evaluation, articulate returned evaluation sheets into student system. Keep up to date with ACE credit recommendation updates. Pull military transcripts from system as required.

Percent of total time 5 Responsibility / Duty

Evaluate Texas Student Initiatives:

Evaluate student Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Maintain and update TSI screens and modify TSI status for completion based on coursework or other TSI status areas, verify, update and/or post Texas Success Initiative (TSI) into the student system.

Evaluate Texas Student Initiatives:

Determine admissions decisions. Post the admissions decisions into the student system.

Create Letters:

Create and send admissions decision letters by emails.

Answer Questions:

Assist current and prospective students, faculty, staff, and advisers on course equivalencies' to a course at TAMUCT that is needed for transfer, degree plan and/or updates.

Process CLEP credit:

Process Business Occupations block credit and CLEP credit, perform as a committee member for the block credit.

Transcript updates:

Update incoming transcripts.

Database articulation:

Maintain articulation database system containing match lists of course equivalents.

Percent of total time 1 Responsibility / Duty

Other duties:

Accept other duties as assigned by the admissions supervisor or department head.
