Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)

Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field or a Bachelor's degree in the life sciences (biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc.)

Advanced training in biostatistical analysis (regression modeling, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, survey data analysis, etc.); familiarity with ArcGIS, R, Stata, SAS, SPSS, and Excel; experience tutoring biostatistics and data management; experience in qualitative research design, focus group facilitation, and data analysis (using Atlas.ti);

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in public health or a related field or a Master's degree in the life sciences (biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc.) Experience in basic science research; familiarity with HTML and JavaScript familiarity with the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program, experience in grant writing; extensive experience in research writing and editing;knowledge of IRB policies experience in study design and development; familiarity with cost analyses in the healthcare setting;

Brief Description of Duties:

The incumbent will aide faculty and residents in the development, design, and completion of the Department of Medicine research projects; the incumbent is required to provide both biostatistical and qualitative research support to faculty members. Successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), excellent organizational skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively; ability to create presentations, lessons, and structured discussions for diverse audiences.

  • Provide biostatistical support including HIPAA compliant data analysis.
  • Assist faculty and residents in study design, including quantitative and qualitative research support and survey creation.
  • Provide research and grant writing support.
  • Assist in formal resident research education: design and deliver classroom sessions.
  • Mentor undergraduate/medical student researchers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
