Posting Information: The Instructional Designer/ Educational Developer will work directly with the faculty, leadership, and staff of the Coulter Faculty Commons (CFC) to provide support for best practices in instructional design, collaborative educational development, and consultations for innovative, effective strategies that promote student engagement, persistence, and success in keeping with Western Carolina University's mission and strategic goals.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Master's degree required. A combination of coursework and experience in some or all of the following areas: Instructional Design, Educational Development, Teaching and Learning, Higher Education, Adult Education, and/or other related degree/s or coursework. Enthusiasm for working collaboratively with faculty to explore and realize their pedagogical and scholarly goals.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution with relevant coursework preferred. Two - five years of instruction in higher education or equivalent; experience working with faculty within higher education; developmental consultations with faculty; scholarship of teaching and learning and of educational development. Also preferred are the following: demonstrated skill and experience with design and implementation of creative, effective, active online and technology-enhanced or technology-dependent instruction. Familiarity with Quality Matters framework also highly desirable.
