Job Description

Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to manage the Supply Chain for Power & Dry Transformers. Overall management of the supply management functions includes planning, scheduling, expediting, procurement, material and inventory management, and transportation.
Direct operations and a staff engaged in a variety of supply management duties. Direct complex analyses and investigations, review proposals and make recommendations to President. Direct the development and implementation of aggressive measures to cost-effectively achieve goals and ensure utmost customer satisfaction.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following;

- Develop or assist in developing plans for the company, introduce goals and objectives, and direct their cost-effective accomplishment

- Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and are in accordance with the organization's goals and objectives. Anticipate and direct timely and effective responses to problems

- Direct supplier selection for all commodities and manage vendor development

- Develop leads and support strategic sourcing for the facility

- Monitor and improve supplier performance

- Coordinate efforts of sourcing team to focus on reducing cost through utilizing purchasing leverage, standardization, technology changes, and overall market knowledge

- Oversee performance, ensure responsiveness to customer requirements, and initiate remedial measures, as appropriate

- Manage the review of methods, procedures and processes, and promote the development and introduction of alternative approaches for cost-effectively providing quality services

- Counsel and support managers and provide leadership in resolving human resource issues and technical problems Promote independent actions to improve operations and customer relations



- Associate's degree with 8 years, combined professional power transformer experience in supply chain, operations, manufacturing or engineering; OR

- Bachelor's degree with 5 years' combined professional power transformer experience in supply chain, operations, manufacturing or engineering


- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering

- 8 years of previous management experience

- Certification in either Supply Chain Management or Production and Inventory Management

- Working knowledge of transformer products and main commodities is required

- Demonstrated ability to recognize commodity trends and develop strategies to mitigate inflation

- Experience working with SAP and other Material Requirement Planning (MRP) tools

- Proficiency with software applications such as MS-office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

- Excellent communication skills

- Proficient in negotiations

- Excellent analytical capabilities
