The Sinai Health System and the University of Toronto are seeking a new holder for the Sam and Judy Pencer Family Chair in Diabetes for the Director of the Diabetes Clinical Research Unit at Sinai Health System.

The successful candidate must currently hold an active full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. This position is for a 5-year term, renewable once following a successful review. He/she must hold an MD degree and specialist qualifications as well as have licensure in Ontario. He/she should be a Clinician Scientist and have a track record consistent with this career path. Effective start date of appointment is September 1, 2017, or shortly thereafter.

The successful candidate will be part of a large, academically successful endocrinology program. The Diabetes Clinical Research Unit incorporates state-of-the-art clinical care for diabetes with an active clinical research program. He/she will head the Unit, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of staff endocrinologists, clinician investigators, clinician scientists, the Diabetes Research Team and the Leadership Sinai Centre for Diabetes Clinical Care Team. The successful applicant should have leadership experience and a track record of excellence and achievement in research, education and creative professional activity. He/she will be expected to develop a successful academic strategic plan and fundraising program for diabetes research. Closing date for applications: August 11, 2017.
