Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; a minimum of more than 5 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum 5 years of experiencing in financial management and operations.
Experience in supervising a finance team strongly preferred.
Experience in an academic medical environment where collaborative and overlapping program and budget processes exist and experience in financial settings preferred.
Experience using automated accounting and reimbursement systems and general financial applications is required.
Knowledge of University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and UW Medical Foundation funding preferred.
Proven leadership skills, including hiring, managing, inspiring, and conflict resolution with proven ability in team building and motivating staff to meet goals and outcomes.
Requires excellent communication skills (written, oral).

Position Summary:

The Department of Radiology is seeking a Financial Manager to provide overall budgetary and financial administrative support to the department. Duties will include ensuring maintenance of a system of internal controls and reconciliation system of several University of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Health revenue streams and expense payments and reimbursements. This position will be the direct supervisor for the finance team consisting of two accountants, four financial specialists and one student. The Financial Manager will work under the general supervision of the Associate Director, Business Services-Finance, Coding and Research.

Additional Information:

A minimum of seven years' experience required for appointment at the senior level.
