Job Summary: The Academic Administrative Assistant is a focal point of the Theater Department office and provides front line reception and service assistance to the department chair, faculty, students, and community. We are particularly interested in candidates from under-represented groups that can add to the diversity and excellence of our academic program. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: budget maintenance; course scheduling; events coordination and support; course evaluations processing; department/program reception and general support; liaison to administrative offices such as Office Services, Purchasing, Registrar's Office, Facilities, Admissions, Financial Services, IT etc.; student worker supervision; report preparation; records management; supplies and equipment ordering; and personnel search support.
Requires strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and multi-task. It also requires excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and relations building skills; proficiency in using Macintosh and PC computers and technology--including word processing, spreadsheet, and accounting applications (Microsoft Office); and problem solving, creativity and resourcefulness. Also requires the abilities to take direction and to work independently, as well as to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, presentation software). Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and administrative skills. Strong interpersonal skills. 2-3 years experience in program support functions.

Pay Range: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with experience. Internal candidates may fall outside of this range and should contact Nancy Bruno with any individual questions.
