Assistant Professor in Dietetics and Human Nutrition



The University of Kentucky seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, with an approximate start date of August 15, 2017. An alternate start date of January 1, 2018 would be considered. This is a full time, 12-month position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Regular Title Series, with a Distribution of Effort of approximately 60% Research, 35% Instruction, and 5% Service, with future potential for ACEND programming responsibilities.

Responsibilities of this position include:
• Distribution of Effort of approximately 60% research, 35% instruction and 5% Service. Faculty assignments and DOE are subject to annual negotiation between the chair and the faculty.
• Develop and maintain an active applied, translational or social science research program focused on nutrition intervention issues related to chronic disease with external funding support. Seeking and obtaining extramural grants is an expectation.
• Advance and disseminate knowledge through publication in appropriate refereed journals.
• Advise, mentor and evaluate undergraduate and/or graduate student research projects and/or theses.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
• Function as an active member of the department, college and university faculty.
• Engage in national and international professional activities
