Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Performs initial technical implementation of technology products and serves as a project lead. Executes installation, upgrades, testing, and system configuration as part of completing implementation projects. May consult with clients to analyze and verify operational needs. Possess and maintains a high level of industry specific technical knowledge by remaining current with emerging products and technical updates. Installs hardware, cabling, computers and peripherals. Maintains optimal system performance, and documents and troubleshoots system issues. Maintains inventory and labeling of equipment and removes decommissioned hardware. Assists with maintenance and support of AV systems. Assists with receiving and staging of hardware.

Required Qualifications:
This is a career ladder and may be hired at any of these levels:

Level I, grade 16: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in information technology or related field, plus one year of experience which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position; OR any combination of higher education and work experience totaling 3 years, two of which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position.
Also required to have a current A+, CNA, CNE, MCP, MCSE, CCNA or other industry recognized certification applicable to the essential functions. May obtain this certification within the first 6 months of employment.

Level II, grade 18: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in information technology or related field, plus two years of experience which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position; OR any combination of higher education and work experience totaling 4 years, 2 of which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position.
Also required to have a current A+, CNA, CNE, MCP, MCSE, CCNA or other industry recognized certification applicable to the essential functions.

Level III, grade 20: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in information technology or related field, plus three years of experience which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position; OR any combination of higher education and work experience totaling 5 years, 4 of which must be directly related to the essential functions/duties of the position.
Also required to have a current A+, CNA, CNE, MCP, MCSE, CCNA or other industry recognized certification applicable to the essential functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of A/V Design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of field-proven integration and management skills.
  • Knowledge of different types of AV systems (classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, conference rooms, huddle spaces, theaters).
  • Knowledge of digital and analog AV signals (HDMI, display port, HDBaseT, SDI, unbalanced and balanced audio, multi-channel audio, etc.).
  • Knowledge of desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise networking.
  • Knowledge of Service Management.
  • Interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills and decision making skills.
    Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Skills in technical writing.
  • Skills in designing, installing, and troubleshooting IT and A/V technology.
  • Skills in creating and teaching IT and A/V training materials to large audiences.
  • Skills with performing complex tasks and completing assignments with little or no assistance, while assisting less experienced peers.
  • Ability to motivate multiple-discipline project teams in meeting client’s needs
  • Ability to supervise and manage a teams of 2-15 people.
  • Ability to perform inspections and make necessary adjustments to conform specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to learn and implement new technology.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively without direct supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling multiple projects and issues efficiently through to completion.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, delivering upon expectations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blue prints.
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementation skills that allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision with latitude for independent judgment.


Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in related field or an advanced degree, certification, or additional professional training.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent climbing, bending/stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, grasping, pushing/pulling, talking and lifting 50 lbs and more. It also requires continual seeing, hearing, and talking as well as fine hand manipulation.

Pay Range: $33,385 to $51,502
