JOB TITLE: Construction Project Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Project Management / Construction Management
LOCATION: Orange County, CA
REPORTS TO: Sr. Construction Manager
This position will work closely with a Project/Construction Management team to coordinate the implementation of capital
healthcare projects. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Support the Project and Construction Managers as well as other assigned staff in the development and maintenance of
project budgets, schedules, and other industry standard documents and management tools for various capital projects from
inception through implementation and project close-out.
• Provide day to day project support through timely processing of all information, contracts, purchase orders, contractor
payment applications, changes, and all other project documents essential to the effective and efficient management of
• Assist the Project Management team with feasibility studies and research necessary for clients to meet key business initiatives.
• Coordinate capital and expense related budgeting, forecasting, and actual cost information as required.
Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
Effectively communicate with project and construction manager, clients, end users, consultants, team members, and all levels of
Project Engineer Skills
Possess fundamental project management skills with a track record of successful project execution.
Proficient in using program and project management system tools for project tracking.
Track and maintain project budgets and work schedules.
Knowledge of contracting strategies and the RFP process, as well as the ability to develop such documents and scopes of
services in support of construction projects.
Understanding of how requirements affect cost/schedule and the ability to pro-actively identify issues.
Act as the keeper of knowledge in support of the project planning and delivery process.
Understanding of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, building materials, cabling and furniture.
Awareness of the balance between design/project development and operations/maintenance and maintain a thorough
understanding of operations challenges while supporting planning and design development functions.
Detailed oriented and patience for thorough analysis and solutions
Ability to understand and identify complex program and system requirements.
Understands the appropriate tools for process, program, and project management and the ability to apply technology to problem
identification and proposed solutions.
Proficient PC skills, writing, analytical, and process mapping skills by means of industry standard software, including but not
limited to, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

BA/BS Degree required in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum 3 years experience in providing active project support in project or construction management or field engineering for
commercial building, industrial building and tenant improvement projects.
Licenses or Certifications
Licensed or certified professional preferred.
