Job Summary/Basic Function:
This job provides oversight of all University financial transactions, and ensures a sound and prudent structure for planning, budgeting, accounting, investing and reporting on university finances. The scope includes budget development and control, student accounting; oversight of the application of financial aid to student accounts; general accounting; investments and cash management; endowment management; payroll; reporting; and financial reporting.

This is accomplished through a Financial Services department of approximately 20 financial and accounting professionals, a process and policy structure, and a program of guidance and information to all university and department leaders to ensure they are compliant with university and State of Texas requirements.

Other duties include communication with external governmental, non-profit and private agencies, students, parents, and alumni, and participating in the implementation and ongoing operation of the enterprise financial operations system.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Over 10 years of experience.

Specialized knowledge in financial management and control practices.

Specialized knowledge in the higher eucation environment.

Specialized knowledge in state government administration and management.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
