University Health Services
Perform psychiatric examinations and evaluations for specific complaints for the identification of mental illnesses for scheduled and emergency same day appointments. Initiate medically sound treatment options, diagnostic tests and other procedures and consultations as indicated. Review and discuss with patients the results of laboratory tests and other procedures or consults. Make medically indicated referrals to other specialists/consultants as necessary.
Document the patient's mental health history, evaluation, diagnostic findings and treatment plan in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR). Serves as consultant/educator to other health care practitioners to include Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants etc. and cosign prescriptions as appropriate. May serve as preceptor to students.
Doctor of Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes plus four years of experience. Completion of a psychiatric residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Current Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.
Board certified in Psychiatry or become Board Certified within a year of hire date.
Experience performing psychiatric examinations and evaluations, initiating treatment plans, diagnostic tests and procedures. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills.
Previous experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
Position requires a post hire PPD (TB) test and OSHA training.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Criminal Background Check
