General Summary: The Center for Language Education (CLE) in the College of Education seeks an applicant for the position of Instructor of American Culture and Learning Coordinator. This position is a part-time appointment, beginning Spring 2018.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for teaching two, 2-hour classes each Friday morning during the spring 2018. The class will introduce international students to some of the major themes of American culture and history as well as some key issues facing university students.
  • In addition, the individual will assistant with the instruction in the CLE's creativity and critical thinking class each Thursday afternoon, and coordinate field trips to cultural sites and sporting activities on some weekends. In this capacity, the individual will introduce CLE students to UNG student activities and meet with CLE students on Friday afternoons for weekly activities. The individual will report to the CLE's Associate Director and assist the CLE's Associate Director as needed. The individual is expected to attend all the scheduled CLE meetings each semester.

  • Interested in working with and learning from international students.
  • Responsible, motivated, creative, innovative, and willing to work independently.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum two-years teaching experience; international teaching experience is valued.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Driver's license with near faultless record; ability to drive a 15 passenger van.
  • Willingness to work some weekends.
