Quality Assurance Engineer


The primary responsibility of this role will be to provide functional and regression testing for our biometric software and hardware products. The position requires an individual with prior experience in implementing "best in class" testing processes and procedures. As a member of our staff, you will work closely with our software development, hardware engineers and QA teams to release world-class products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Prepare detailed test plans and effective functional and performance test cases

• Prepare testing schedules to support product release dates

• Install, configure and maintain test environments; implement appropriate ghosting or imaging technology to facilitate rapid transitions between test environments

• Develop & execute test plans, cases, scenarios to meet scheduled product release dates; this includes functional, regression and usability testing

• Clearly and effectively document all bugs; follow each logged issue through to its resolution

• Support ALPHA and BETA programs; reproduce reported issues and log results and/or bugs

• Draft content for Operations Release Document and README files for each software candidate for release

• Provide ongoing support for released products by reproducing issues escalated to Engineering

• Maintain an effective testing program through the ongoing review of test plans and cases and updating plans/cases as required by changes in product features

• Actively support the organization's efforts to obtain product certifications

• Build and maintain a fully functional anti-spoofing lab; run fingerprint collections

• Travel may be required

• Expertise in implementing "best in class" QA procedures, processes and documentation that ensures the on schedule releases of high quality software products

• Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a member of a team

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multi-tasking environment with rapid development life cycles

• Effective communication skills, including a good command of English

• A passion for contributing to the release of "best in class" products

Language Skills:

• Proficient in English

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience)

• Experience testing security-related products

• 4 - 6 years of hands-on QA experience with MS Windows and Linux OS

• 4+ years of hands-on QA experience with Android OS

• Knowledgeable of Android and Linux OS file system and permissions

• Knowledgeable of Android OS features and configuration settings (Wifi, credential storage, VPN, Sleep, etc...)

• Proficient with adb tool and debugging (capturing logcat for analysis)

• Proficient with Linux or Android shell and shell scripting

• Hands on experience testing PC peripherals; experience testing USB devices & drivers

• Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with complex applications

• Experience defining and documenting effective and detailed test cases, test plans and writing test reports

• Experience using automated test tools

• Excellent troubleshooting and reporting skills
