JOB TITLE: Professional Services / Project Engineer

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 100% Project Implementation

DEPARTMENT: Operations - Professional Services


This position is part of an integrated team of engineers. The primary objective for this candidate will be to provide professional services on new implementation and/or system upgrade projects. The Professional Services Engineer will maintain a consistent remote and/or on-site schedule to provide the following services:

  • Develop Project Plans and Timelines
  • Provide Project Implementation of upgrades and new technology
  • Provide end-user training
  • Troubleshoot escalated tickets on issues related to project implementations

This role is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction in all areas of project delivery. Professional Services Engineers are required to regularly review and update information for each client in the client knowledge base as well with the Project Coordinator, assigned Network Admin and CIO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Sr. Project Engineer will have significant knowledge and experience in hardware/software/network concepts, tools, and support best practices. This knowledge and experience will be used to support various software products, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, VMware, Citrix, Backup Software, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware products, and various client-specific applications. Professional Services Engineer will also assist in supporting all network equipment and connectivity to the client, including routers, firewalls, and other devices.

The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible for participating in an integrated team of service delivery professionals. This team may consist of Help Desk Technicians, system and network engineers, additional Network Admins, and project/account managers. Working within this team approach is critical to the success of this position and communication between and across teams is critical to providing the client with a superior service. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining standards consistent with our offerings and streamlining / standardizing the clients' configuration for ease of support.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Soft Skills

• B.S. in Computer Science preferred

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent analytic and problem solving skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to work successfully with an integrated support team

Technical Skills and Certifications

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or proficient

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or proficient

• 3+ years supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008/2012

• 3+ years supporting Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010/2013

• 3+ years supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008

• 3+ years experience supporting backup software - Storage Craft Preferred

• 3+ years experience working with server and network monitoring applications

• 3+ years experience supporting network routers/firewalls/vpn concentrators
