The UVA Career Center is an exceedingly vibrant office with regard to its career services operations. As part of its On-Grounds Interviewing Program, approximately 2,000 students and 300 employers are served annually for a total of approximately 6,500 individual employment interviews. Located in a beautiful facility (Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium), there is convenient parking for staff and visitors.
The primary purpose of this seasonal position is to provide excellent service to a variety of UVA Career Center customers (i.e. students, employers, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and community members) and, in particular, those participating in the On-Grounds Interviewing Program. The Employer Relations Assistant will also provide assistance relative to the Handshake system, job postings, career fairs, open houses, workshops, and other projects as needed. The Employer Relations Assistant will have the unique opportunity to positively impact a broad range of programs and services offered by the Career Center.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Employer Accounts and Events, the Employer Relations Assistant works with a team to maintain existing and develop new relationships with employers who have an on-going interest in the employment potential and careers of University of Virginia students and alumni.
This position is seasonal and the ideal dates of service are August 14th - November 10th, 2017. The typical work schedule is Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm (1 hour lunch) and Fridays 8am-noon. Schedule may change occasionally due to operational needs.
