General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently in search of a part-time staff member for the Supplemental Instruction program. A department of University College, Supplemental Instruction is responsible for providing academic assistance to students in courses identified as posing critical challenges for students as evidenced by the higher DWFs received across multiple campuses. The part-time staff will collaborate with the Director of Supplemental Instruction and the Coordinator of Supplemental Instruction to maintain a Supplemental Instruction program at the University of North Georgia. This position requires occasional evening and weekend responsibilities throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters and reports to the Coordinator of Supplemental Instruction.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Staff Assistant will:
  • Assist in the overall administrative operations of the program including, but not limited to, SI inquiries, program inventory, training preparation material, and electronic filing/organization of documents.
  • Assist Director and Coordinator with obtaining DWF data across all campuses.
  • Assist Coordinator in maintaining up-to-date OrgSync functions and student activity entries.
  • Assist with the promotion of the Supplemental Instruction program, including social media and website portals.
  • Minimal contact, observations, and training of SI student facilitators.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent and effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as, effective listening skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize deadlines.
  • Experience working with OrgSync and Banner systems, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma; Associate's degree preferred
  • Two or more years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
